FAQ

JPG to PNG — frequently asked

Do I need an account to convert images?

No. SnapConvrt has no sign-up, login, or email capture. You land on a page, upload, and download — that's the whole flow.

Is it free?

Converting one file is always free. Batches of 2 to 50 files unlock with a paid upgrade — no account, no subscription.

How many files can I convert at once, and how large?

Up to 50 files per batch, 50 MB per file, and 500 MB in total. One file is free; batches of 2–50 require an upgrade.

Do you store or keep my images?

No. Uploads live only in an anonymous, short-lived session — about 30 minutes by default — and are deleted automatically when it expires. You can also delete them instantly with "Delete now".

When does the conversion actually happen?

At download time. There is no long-running queue or processing dashboard — you pick an output format and the converted file is produced as you download it.

Which formats are supported?

HEIC and HEIF to JPEG or PNG, WebP to JPEG or PNG, PNG to JPEG, and JPEG to PNG. SnapConvrt is built for these six routes — not as a universal converter.

What is a JPG file?

JPG (also written JPEG) is a widely supported, lossy image format. It compresses photos into small files that open on almost any device, but it doesn't support transparency.

Does converting JPG to PNG improve quality?

It won't recover detail already lost to JPG compression, but PNG stops any further quality loss when you edit and re-save.

Why is my PNG larger than the JPG?

PNG is lossless, so it stores more data than a compressed JPG. The trade-off is maximum quality and transparency support.
